Department: Public Programs - Public Programs Intern
1 Unpaid Undergraduate Internship (20 hours per week)
Job Description
The selected candidate will assist the Public Programs Office by developing and implementing educational programs for the public, as well as training docent volunteers.
Job Duties:
• Develop and implement new public programs based on current or upcoming museum exhibitions.
• Train both volunteers and staff on newly developed programs.
• Assist with guiding tour groups through museum exhibitions.
• Attend monthly docent meetings.
• Assist in developing promotional materials for newly-developed programs.
• Research and contact groups to advertise new programs.
Qualifications:
• Undergraduate (junior or senior) or graduate degree in history, public history, museum studies, museum education or
education.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong written and communication skills.
• Interest in working with the public.
• Some public speaking skills.
